       @dave@alvarado.social @xgranade@wandering.shop to be honest, I was too amused by the language they used to be that mad at it.Another form did the same today, but it just said "please remove {this particular character} from your name" so at least it's not telling me that my is literally wrong or invalid.

       @aud @dave When I lived in Australia, most financial institutions required me to have my formal title as part of my name (gods, I loved whipping out a credit card that said "Dr. Granade"), which was fine, but did cause some fun when coming back to the US and getting shit transferred back here. Names are just tricky in general, and so many companies don't give one flying shit.

       @aud @dave I mean, true, but this shit goes all the way back to mainframe days! As long as computers have existed, we've been expected to conform human experience to the limitations with which they're programmed rather than expecting companies using said systems to conform to what humans actually do in practice.
