ICE raids are not "increased immigration enforcement actions" or whatever. Stop using that term. No habeas corpus? No warrants? Extradition to prisons (at best) in extremely authoritarian countries? Kidnapping children? Separating families? ICE agents pumping lead into people they don't like? Pointing guns in the face of anyone filming them?That's a goddamn authoritarian crackdown. What architecture and boot up chain would you even need to get that running, I wonder?... I realize I know nothing about boot up sequences from the 70s for UNIX. Did they have something we'd recognize as a BIOS, I wonder...

With all the recently unemployed people in tech nowadays (3+ years of rolling layoffs), I wonder if there's enough available skill and drive to form local co-ops dedicated to getting their city/state/county off of Microsoft/Google/AWS tech stacks and onto something open and non-corporate?It'd almost certainly be cheaper than what the city/state/county are paying now and would actually boost local employment.
