       @jmaris well, Mozilla has a history of making bad things, and more importantly, being dishonest about them.Like, they lie like any other corporation.Maybe the decisions they're being criticized for are all lesser evils, but we can't know that, because they won't tell us why they made them. They just dress everything up with artificial positivity.

       @jmaris as for the EU... I think EU is not a uniform entity, but it's unclear for most people what are the forces within the EU that push it in one direction or another.

       @jmaris @wolf480plI’ve seen this one for Pope Francis and AOC as individuals, and the transitions to electric vehicles and renewable energies as abstract processes!I think it’s a big society-wide political problem (not just Mastodon) that we can’t compliment/help political actors for the good things they do and criticise/punish for the bad things.Media culture, and perhaps reducing politics to elections, tempts folks to exclusively punish. But then you achieve nothing but paralysis!

       @Akshay @jmaris I think part of it is that we hold people in power to a higher standard. We'd like them to be exemplary, be moral authorities, be heroes. And you know what they say about meeting your heroes...
