@WhitestTemplar @Eiswald I get a loan of 1 billion dollars to invest in 1011PI incoperated. Several companies clone 1011PI's product. Let call them girlScoutPP Wee². A ton of people all take out loans and take a ton of stupid risks. Along comes LexCorp, also clones 1011PI's product but there is actually no reasonable use for it. Now more infrastructure is needed to run stuff like 1011PI. The promises 1011PI made are in fact impossible, because they first presuppose the solution to multiple fundamental problems and second needs it to have properties it actually never had, can't have currently and probably never will have ever. So LexCorp realized that it has now stuffed money into something nobody neither nor asked for. Now what? First they shove it down your throat so LexCorp can make back its losses. Then they force their employees to use it, so there is a need for it. However, the flaws become more and more apparent. Progress stagnates and then market collapses for nobody wants to be the bag holder. Now there is a lot of Infrastructure and equiptment lying around out there. Nobody needs it. The loans can't be served. The returns are now negative. Sure, 1011PI is still of some value but everyone went either went tits up or took the product off the market. As a second order effects the people who invested in the infrastructure go bankrupt, the people selling equipment are in trouble, people lose their jobs. Businesses that have popped up around them also went bankrupt, because unemployed bums don't buy anything (the ancient reason why Internet forums never make any money through ads). People get evicted from their homes they were financing assuming 1011PI will never end. the rest of the economy is as third order effect also in trouble, because all the money evaporated into a 1011PI shaped sink hole and unemployed bums don't buy anything, because they can't. The economy enters a recession like the type of the one China finds itself in right now. People become immiserated eventually if the economy can't maneuver at all, the world begins to slow down, because nobody wants to take any risk or isn't allowed to take them and your testicles will twister for you at least lack the street smarts to understand a confidence scheme.

@WhitestTemplar @Eiswald everyone in the tech industry and a bunch outisde of the tech industry have with their last hope towards economic survival put all their investments hedged in the technology sector, and everyone in the tech sector has it all on AI. the imaginary worth of AI might very well be holding up 1/4 of investment of the United States and a ton of others around the world. if anyone big starts to find out and actually believe AI is worthless, boom, trillions of dollars in economic investments implode within our economy like depth charges.I can’t wait
