I wrote a letter for my congressmen Ritchie Torres. I will deliver it in person later and I have some things to say to him that I don't want to put in writing. Frankly, I think we may need to find a new rep. but it seems responsible to do this. Feel free to use bits of this if it is helpful. I'm still pushing the "money out of politics" things because I don't see how they can say no to it. It's the floor. I delivered the letter in person at his office which was closed and mailed it to him signed. I guess it's time to get serious about finding a new democrat for the primary. He's too far gone.

@futurebird I would be ok with members of Congress investing their retirement savings in broad based index funds, because they have to put their money somewhere. But no individual stocks, and no trading individual stocks while in office.

@futurebird You can't have #democracy under capitalism, it doesn't work. The rich are always able to subvert it; people who make large political 'donations' -- the honest word is bribes -- always have more influence with politicians than those who merely vote.
