I have a little Python coding project I've been working on that uses LLMs. It takes advantage of @simon's excellent LLM libraryhttps://llm.datasette.io/en/stable/for API access to the various models available. Simon, any plans to include Gemini support?If I get my thing working and useful, I might publish it. I confess to some caution, though; copyright litigation over training data is ongoing. Hard to know where liability will land, and how it will be resolved.

Mickey Mouse is about to enter the public domain! This is not a drill! US law paused the expiration of copyright for decades beginning in the late 1990s, but on January 1, 2024, copyrights issued in 1928 expire. I’m gonna #FANuary @futurebird.She’s not an easy follow. She posts A LOT, boosting replies that she wants to expose, then replying to those. You’ll have some reading to do.She’s into nearly everything, including her cat, dinosaurs, math, teaching, books, food, Brooklyn and omigod ants. Also ant-adjacent species. The ants are what captivated me first. The rest is gravy, really.Smart and interesting and surprising and my feed’s better because of her.

I've been disappointed and frustrated by the silence of tech company leadership in countering the messages coming out of the Trump administration and DOGE. @interfluidity @futurebird For a while, a lot of the folks I hung out with in Silicon Valley craved an invitation and the validation they thought it would bring. Invariably, “what I want to say,” not “what you want to know.” It was kind of influencers before YouTube and TikTok.I did really enjoy a bunch of TED talks.
