I don't know who asked for this, but you can get... a CD player... that pretends to be a USB stick full of WAV files, so you can play CDs in a car too new to have a CD player?? What a cursēd bargain at only 325 roobucks

@endrift @abrasive hard mode: make one that plays streaming audio. figure out how big the I/O buffer is on the playing device and dynamically generate sectors ahead of the device's filesystem driver

@foone @endrift don't you reckon it streams already? I'm guessing it doesn't make you sit there for 74 minutes at power on while it rips the disc. although at this point I shouldn't assume anything...

@foone @abrasive @endrift since CD audio data format is WAV compatible, I'm not sure if its really streaming, or even decoding at all. In theory it only would need to emulate FAT and translate the filesystem access to matching CD data offsets without interfering with the content being read back.
