       @contaminase both are great machines.  i wonder if we'll see some desktop users make mentions.  i run x220/t480/t480s with no issues.  one day i'll think about a desktop

       @jae to be frank, these are thinkpads and these are dated thinkpads. Devs themselves probably use them. I remember that on x260, which is the “whatever I don’t care” machine, under OpenBSD even special function keys are working out of the box.When I am done with the essential unpacking after the move and will finally proceed to working up the study, I will test dual boot on my amd 5700x/RTX3070 desktop. Then we will see.

       @contaminase i like the dated thinkpads myself.  they are like tanks!  but yes they definitely just work.i've not owned proper desktop in a decade.  usually mini machines and such.  i had considered building a 5000 series itx desktop one day, but i eed to research first and also determine if it's needed.

       @contaminase i never really got into video games. older things on emulators for nes/atari i can play sometimes.  modern games not really.  i think the only game i play regularly is chess.
