What is one of the more obscure youTube or pixelfed channels where you NEVER miss a post? Here are some of my obscure favs:Cry Responsiblyhttps://www.youtube.com/@studiox9861This is a "Backrooms" channel where they read the articles sometimes adding moody sound effects. GAKHEDhttps://www.youtube.com/@gakhedThis is an analog video art channel with short delightful videos that are moody, wistful, and not very long.(It looks like they have 60K subs now! I knew them when! Still great. )

@futurebird Tim Hunkin (not sure it counts as obscure though): https://m.youtube.com/@timhunkin1Linus Ã…kesson: https://m.youtube.com/@lftkryo (though that's really more of a blog: https://www.linusakesson.net )

@jannem I was just watching tim hunkin "gears" video the other day and thinking about how I need to show it to the robotics team because I go around in circles with them about not needing to buy a "more powerful motor" if they'd just use gear ratios correctly EVERY YEAR.

@futurebird Also, https://m.youtube.com/@aaedmusa has made a few accessible videos lately about using wire loops for gearing. That's another good way to control actuators.

@futurebird I don't know if it's obscure exactly, but the Tim Traveler is great - he visits places in Europe to check out strange and wonky things - quirky and impractical public transit systems, peculiar border enclaves, underwhelming mountains (the highest peak in the Netherlands...), restaurants where a model train brings your food...

@futurebirdSurprisingly Sincerehttps://www.youtube.com/@SurprisinglySincereThe channel is a self-described mix of "personal essays pretending to be critical analysis" of art, media, mental health, and philosophy with a touch of existential dread and overthinking. Not the lightest material, but I've found their style comforting and entertaining at the same time.Tiny Wireshttps://www.youtube.com/@tinywiresThis channel is the project of @munificent, whose musical style is "in the vicinity of deep house and dub techno".
