       It's true on #Fediverse it seems that everyone is running some #unix stuff, be it #Linux or #BSD or even #plan9 and alike. In real life people see your screen and ask "hey you're running #MacOS or what?" and you say "oh no it's Linux " and 90% of time they are like "what?say that again??" 😂😂😂

       @kaixin few months ago, had this case of a new colleague noticing my and another collelagues screens with AWESOME wallpapers.Her question was somewhere along the lines "Why is it written on Your wallpaper? Is this infamous Linux You two keep blabbing about?"After that, I had to explain what's Awesome Window Manager, etc. Her follow-up question was - "But why? Windows do have tiling option on it's own..."¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

       @mprogr@river.group.lt last time my colleague ask why I was using Linux, I find it hard to explain to someone who had never known Linux before. So I just replied, well I just like it because it's open source operating system

       @kaixin since I consult/freelance I tend to work remotely alot in various places. where ever I feel like sitting and working on a given day, keeps me out of the house.One day i'm in library and I'm just surfing the internet on qutebrowser and working on my wm. i'm not using a mouse, i rarely use a mouse or touchpad for anything anymore. I caught this guy who was sitting next to me just in a state of amazement that I was surfing the web without touching the trackpad (qutebrowser uses vim navigation) and switching windows and opening terminals in the same way. He had like a gazillion questions and said "you're like a hacker in a movie!"

       @rozodru@vivaldi.net I feel you. I don't normally use mouse either. And many times when others saw my terminal screen they thought I was doing something hacky and I could only replied no I am simply updating the system 😂
