       @interfluidity Was reminded of William Gibson’s “The Gernsback Continuum” (1981) recently, which looks at the connections between the Art Deco / Futurist science fiction aesthetic of the ‘30s and fascist aesthetics (and content). What’s interesting is how opinion-shapers can latch onto even robustly anti-fascist science fiction (like Iain M. Banks “Culture” novels) as inspiration for fascist-inflected visions of the future.
