       @lawprofblawg i'm in the camp that says upon election to public office of any sort you must relinquish control over any specific stocks you have, and any investments must be "Index" only. If it's found out you're party to any stock, you get impeached and ideally barred from office for life. If, when you change offices or leave office, you suddenly have stocks, those are taken away, as assumed "profit from corruption". civil forfeiture is bad, but use it against the politicians, too!
