Started playing Starward again and I almost feel bad. 3 seasons of inactivity means all I'm fighting are new players who just aren't strong enough to keep up with someone who was decent at this game specifically and got better playing actual Gundam Versus in the hiatus.I almost perfected someone in a 1v1 in the last match I played

@Immahnoob I'd say she's got more of an Anubis look to her but yeah. She's one of the 4 billion "Apostle" units so that means she's an ancient war machine of the previous civilization that collapsed built to fight giant evil robots. While thats the backstory of all the Apostles, it's very funny as thats actually what Barbatos is in IBO as well.

Force them all to drive up profits while lowering the worker's pay. Look at Sega after the Genesis/Mega Drive's release. Every single game, accessory, and console since was some form of competition between America and Japan (and sub-divisions of Japan). Successful company that definitely didn't nearly drive themselves to bankruptcy because they couldn't actually coordinate anything. :flan_tired:

@Spooke @Immahnoob @supersid333 The partial humor I find in it is the fact that this fake competition bullshit is so utterly pointless nowadays. Back in the day (ironically enough, when every game got a home port) arcade cabs often were more powerful than any personal system. Arcade divisions made sense then since there was a massive gap in what the games would and could be. Nowadays literally every arcade cab is running Windows or Linux. They have anywhere from sub-par to average specs. The arcade division could make the home ports themselves because their "arcade" game is already on essentially a home system. All it needs is a little touch up. There's no justifiable reason for the arcade group to avoid home systems.

They treat the user playing games that aren't the most high profile or expensive as a risk to their profit margins. The long-term doesn't matter, they know the company will be around until the current CEO dies or retires. After that? Not his concern. Everyone else could die tomorrow for all they care. :flan_disgust: They treat all this entertainment as a foreign concept and I'm sure most higher-ups don't care for games at all. I'm sure they all think they're "smarter" and "more objective" because of it. A fanbase is little more than a strange word for a tiny market that makes no profits. :flan_angry:

I'm not sure how legal it is to setup some mame machine with some coin collector rigged to it. :guraKekw: . But man it really looks like you could shove like a mini pc into an arcade cabinet, have it run mame and then make it so you have like 2 removable fight pads be added to the cabinet for easy maintenance. For a better and less retarded experience.

@Spooke @Immahnoob @supersid333 Oh I should've mentioned the price of games. Not the system, the games. The system is of course $2800 USD. The games? Cheapest cartridge is $550. The most expensive is $2123. Licensing is also an excuse since most games are either from dead companies, companies who don't mind, or are outright original titles. SunSoft doesn't exist anymore, their licenses are dirt cheap to obtain. There's also some Touhou games that I'm sure ZUN wouldn't really take issue with being on Steam. It is very much a retarded experience yes.
