@Nonilex It's almost as if the Trumpanzees don't read the Supreme Court decisions that they're wanting to overturn. The particular Supreme Court decision in question is Printz v. United States (1997), where the Supremes ruled that the Federal government could not force local sheriffs to enforce the Brady gun control bill's background check requirement. This established the Constitutional principle that the Federal government can't force local law enforcement to enforce Federal laws.

@Nonilex Key takeway from Printz vs. United States (1997): " Finally, and most conclusively in these cases, the Court's jurisprudence makes clear that the Federal Government may not compel the States to enact or administer a federal regulatory program." Federal immigration laws are, of course, a federal regulatory program, since the Supremes have also held that immigration is solely a Federal matter.
