       @neil I’ve thought about this too. For me LinkedIn links up companies and people and has a way to keep in contact who I’ve worked with. It also brings in your timeline of jobs, when you worked with people, skills, projects, certifications. It also is separate from other social media. It has a jobs function so you post if you’re hiring. There’s lots there that would require different data structures and UI changes but I think a base platform like Friendica might be a start. #fediverse

       @neil > what features/functions would a fedi alternative to LinkedIn have, that Mastodon, GtS, Snac etc do not already offer?I'm no fan of LockedIn, or its acquirers at BorgSoft, but this may be one of those use cases where a bounded social network is a feature, not a bug. A federated LI (LinkedOut?) would probably need to use opt-in federation, for the same reasons a dating or couchsurfing network would. Not the opt-out style standard to the free fediverse. @morebento
