This grave is in Eastern Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky. There is a doc about the cemetery called Facing East which tells its disturbing history. I've included to text images telling part of the story so read at your own risk. Ada's grave has been used by local witches for at least the last 15 years since I've been visiting there. The star on her headstone, a symbol of the Order of the Eastern Star, must have confused a witch years ago and Ada became a legend. "I'll Live Again"1/2

@KentuckyConjurer @amiserabilist The whole reason my dad’s side of the family ended up in Western Kentucky is because in the 1800’s, two brothers from Virginia had to quickly leave after they were accused of shooting the sheriff. I have no idea if they actually did it. In any case, any time I hear the song “I Shot the Sheriff“ I think to myself, that should be our family anthem. 😄
