Alongside Ubuntu 25.10 going Wayland only, Kubuntu is following suit. I'm not privy to any internal discussions but I wonder if there has been an conversations with the X11 only flavors about how long they want to wait until Wayland is supported by there respective desktops.

@BrodieOnLinux @KyloNeko I’m totally here for the backlash a more no0by distro like Ubuntu will get by forcing everyone on Wayland and its current shortcomings. 🍿 Maybe that’s the reality check some WL apologists need.(I’m not a hater. I see glaring deficits.)

@frumble @KyloNeko They have numbers of Wayland usage so I think they've anticipated that and don't consider it to be that many people

@BrodieOnLinux Well, if people want something more conservative, they can always just use SteamOS. Legitimately, I'm looking at it as a replacement for Bazzite since there is much less changes there, pretty much seems like the Debian counterpart to Bazzite.
