       I hate it that mastodon does not allow you to turn off replies. I'd love to scream something into the world and I don't want anyone replying to it.And before I get a lot of mansplaining how it's people's right to reply: this is not even something controversial, just something I have no power to deal with any word-like feedback, no matter how well meant. And screaming out would help.

I presume this is what the GoToSocial controls @inkorrupt posted by about are doing.People following your account will only see replies from accounts followed by someone on their server anyway, and not Muted/Block by them or their server admins. Which filters out a lot of garbage.#FediTips

       @strypey @inkorrupt *sigh* where did I ask for tips or to have mastodon functionality explained to me? I even explicitly wrote in the original post to avoid mansplaining replies and here we are 🤷‍♀️

       @inkorrupt> puts them in a queue for approval before they appear public as commentsOK, good to know. Appear *where* as comments? I'm wondering because of the way ActivityPub works. Replies to my posts are sent from the server hosting the sending account, to the servers hosting the people following them. It doesn't (yet) have a mechanism for my server to prevent the federation of replies outside my server.
