       I am becoming increasingly doubtful of #Telegram's background and direction. #WhatsApp is owned by #Meta and just announced that it will introduce ads. So, it looks like I'm left with #Signal and #Matrix. The former has better UX, but it's centralized and US-based. The latter is a bit clumsy but decentralized and EU-based. Neither is perfect, but they are the closest to it for me.#instantmessenger #instantmessaging

       @sesivany Also Matrix (and to some extent Signal) is incomprehensible and unusable for people who are not skilled with IT.

       @fuxoft @sesivany That's nonsense: 1) it is not more complicated to start with #Matrix than with #WhatsApp (you just install an app, register and go), 2) simplicity is overrated... if people were that stupid and require it, everybody be on SMS, where you don't have to do anything. 3) in the end what really matters is what your friends use.
