@waltercool UK: Expected, everyone under 30-35 can at least read basic English, it's mandatory in school.Spain: Not weird at all from California to the Patagonia, also the rest of Romances are close enough with tons of cognates (or ancient/poetic synonyms).Italian: mangiareSpanish: comer (but 'manjar' it's a delicatessen).
