       I've had to cancel my attendance at a birthday on Saturday, and also my shopping trip tomorrow to buy food for the birthday lunch on Saturday, on account of a sudden bout of something or other, which isn't too bad a thing but next week's hospital patient doesn't need the risk of catching anything right now. I think it's just Some Bug - my shots for the plague, the flu etc are up-to-date. I'll be monitoring symptoms and so forth, and also being awfully rude to anyone offering advice, and muting anyone with commentary about covid. Honestly, that virus has damaged so many brains, sometimes even among people who've had it.
