Some days tire me out before they start. Today is one of them. I'll get to start it off in a bookshop but it's all downhill from there. Two separate outings, and maybe three depending on how the second goes. I'm hoping the third thing can be tomorrow's job. It's part of someone else's medical stuff. If they're anxious about it I'll have to deal with it today to calm them down a bit.

Yes, today's a nightmare. Dymocks let me down, Myer no longer sells books (idiots), other places don't open until 10 (also idiots). I'm wasting time I don't have today. Going to Norwood, and hoping. Then I need a supermarket for someone else's groceries, and to get home, and to eat something before the second awful outing. Third outing looks very shaky. People will just have to be anxious. I'll do that stuff tomorrow.

I've had to cancel my attendance at a birthday on Saturday, and also my shopping trip tomorrow to buy food for the birthday lunch on Saturday, on account of a sudden bout of something or other, which isn't too bad a thing but next week's hospital patient doesn't need the risk of catching anything right now. I think it's just Some Bug - my shots for the plague, the flu etc are up-to-date. I'll be monitoring symptoms and so forth, and also being awfully rude to anyone offering advice, and muting anyone with commentary about covid. Honestly, that virus has damaged so many brains, sometimes even among people who've had it.

Rain! Actual rain outside. The forecast is for seven days of varying degrees of aerial moistness. Could this be the beginning of the end of the drought? And when will the water table return to something passing for normal?

If anyone's wondering, absentmindedly bashing one's knee at speed into the corner of a brick structure generates a reasonable amount of pain. Bruising is likely to show up by morning. So I'd recommend not doing this.
