I can't wait for five years from now when there's a massive security incident and the retro boils down to "oh yeah remember that period where our industry thought 'just not caring if your code was correct' was the next big thing?" and we all just sit in embarrassed silence as we try not to think about what that means for our current security and reliability postures.

I can't believe we decided "databases, but make them worse" was a bad technological underpinning for our industry. In five years, hopefully I'll be equally surprised that "what if we wrote a bunch of code without caring if any of it was correct or secure or good or useful" isn't a core skill.
