       @Tutanota great stuff, but I'd like to see also some real Android alternatives listed, I mean there are also mobile operating systems that are not based on Android. See #LinuxMobile #MobileLinux @linmob #mobian #postmarketOS #pureos #phosh #UbuntuTouch @phosh and so on.

       @MuhammadFreeSoftware @eliasr @Tutanota Please speak for yourself. Lots of us are daily driving #linuxmobile on our devices.

       @Sturmflut @MuhammadFreeSoftware @eliasr @Tutanota Mobile Linux *isn't* ready for non-tech-savvy people yet. Things break and need manual intervention enough that somebody who has no experience with that would be lost. Also losing messages, missing calls, or alarms not going off is not the best for somebody who just wants something to "just work". Work is being done to fix this (especially with alarms and calls), but it is slow and hard work.

       @justsoup @Sturmflut @MuhammadFreeSoftware @eliasr @Tutanota There are devices having these issues but there are others that don't so I'd rather not throw everything into one bucket.I find it more straight forward to talk about limitations than telling people that something isn't "for them yet" as that leaves people in jeopardy for longer and might just underestimate their abilities. If people don't know something exists they can't even try it.

       @justsoup @Sturmflut @MuhammadFreeSoftware @eliasr @Tutanota There's also  #UbuntuTouch and #SailfishOS as additional alternatives.

       @agx @justsoup @Sturmflut @MuhammadFreeSoftware @eliasr @Tutanota the difference is that people find all kinds of excuses if it's android or whatever made by the big players. if an os is made by someone different it suddenly has to be perfect or is "not ready".example: the youtube app on android frequently gets into a state where one just can't use the search button anymore. it's there but nothing happens. one has to restart the app.it's digital stockholm syndrome.if not t least half of the major services were shit data silos using something like sailfish os (i know, it's not perfectly free) would be no problem. everything native works and has better UI/UX than android. it's the web of shit and hardware manufacturers that make things hard.

       @Tutanota@mastodon.social DeGoogling is possible, but switching to #Tutanota can be a HUGE mistake.
