@stux Austria (no background checks, no mandatory training, no medical certificate, 30 guns for every 100 inhabitants) and Finland (legal shooting age 15, >32 guns per 100 inhabitants) also have the "super easy to get weapons on each corner of street problem".So not even weapons are the actual problem.

@ZachWeinersmith I'm 100% sure this will turn out to be heavily edited by humans (as always), and even for that it's really bad.

@ZachWeinersmith Everything will go downhill significantly quicker. Those who can afford these things will offload/optimize all tasks and care even less about the rest of the world. Those who can't will be out of ways to afford the bare necessities.

#FuriOS goodies:The #FLX1 Linux phone not just supports MTP (file sharing), RNDIS (network adapter) and charging another device via USB. It can also act as a virtual CD-ROM drive! No more putting ISO files on USB sticks to rescue a broken PC. Just download any ISO file on the phone and immediately serve it to another device. The possibilities!#linuxonmobile

@badvoltage @sil This is what people wanted from Canonical back in the old Ubuntu Phone days: apt-get on a phone. Would be cool if you could look into it.

@axboe It's not just the same as with any other open source project. People actively bought locked-down, undocumented, non-free hardware instead of more FOSS-friendly ARM-based options, decided to not run the operating system they had already paid the manufacturer for (which can actually run a lot of FOSS software), and then on top expected someone else to pay for their own decision. These people are about three times worse than the usual.

@BrodieOnLinux An extensible Mac Studio clone at less than half the price that can run Windows and Linux out of the box seems like a no-brainer to me. Several of my former work colleagues have been looking for exactly this to replace their PCs at home.

The (poor...) way #Linux handles Out Of Memory situations, and the lack of sophisticated application lifecycle management in FOSS toolkits, can make life on #LinuxMobile not so much fun. When memory fills up too much, devices lag and random stuff breaks.@fakeshell from @furilabs ported #lmkd from Android to "pure" Linux and improved it in many ways. It consumes much less resources than #earlyoom and took my #FLX1 to over 5 days uptime for the first time!https://github.com/FuriLabs/lmkd#mobilelinux

@strypey Interesting, never heard about it. And like most commenters I don't seem to understand why all of this couldn't be UI preferences within a single application.
