Decided to run another poll on Wayland and Xorg use. We're now at 77% Wayland to 23% Xorg, and keep in mind this is amongst an audience engaged enough to know the difference. Considering both major desktops and most major DEs default to Wayland I would expect higher amongst the general populace

@BrodieOnLinux > and keep in mind this is amongst an audience engaged enough to know the differenceIt's also an audience more engaged in linux than most people: they ready to try new things for the sake of trying new things), they are also more on the bleeding edge of stuff and are ready to fix stuff when they break.I'm friend with multiples linux users: none of them use Wayland, all of the one who tried to move to it in the last year or so ran back to X in less than a week

@TheFrenchGhosty Most people probably don't even know what they're using

@BrodieOnLinux Considering Debian is also moving to Wayland in the next version, which is mostly frozen recently, I expect the global usage will rise slowly but steadily. From my experience, Debian does what it does best. Like Pipewire, I only noticed the migration with some font rendering differences and presence of X11/Wayland bridge in the system tray. Oh, also Espanso broke, but it's expected. :D
