If you ask most people why they interact with news sources, you’ll hear some version of the same answer. We do it to stay informed. But some of us find that the price of staying informed is too high.#news #media #MentalHealth #SelfCare #NewsMediahttps://medium.com/@atheistrevolution/finding-balance-between-staying-informed-and-despair-1ec1e1b33a29?sk=eb718b3abc774c08597cc0032399b234

@vjack We can't just pretend Trump isn't there as he systematically destroys our freedoms, but events-of-the day summaries have little value. Stay informed, but for what? My answer is to do research by reading in depth, and to do whatever I can to publicize important concerns and try to make others care. My influence is tiny, but real despair would be doing nothing.

@gmcgath You make a good point. The idea of publicizing the important stuff does seem valuable, though it seems to me that the people who care already know what is going on. I've also noticed that there isn't always much agreement about which issues are most important.
