@Nonilex Listening to her voice, I doubt she is Afrikaans. She speaks very much like someone who is an English-speaker at home. But, I also see her arguing that the "Afrikaner" visa is not exclusive to Afrikaners or to farmers. So I'm guessing she just spotted a way to improve her life by going to a country where she won't be in the minority by virtue of her ethnicity and skin color.She seems to be educated and qualified, but maybe also a racist?

@Nonilex She's likely one of the many who fled to South Africa (in her case, as a child) when white minority rule ended in (what was then) Rhodesia, and Mugabe came to power. These expats are South Africa's equivalent of the right-wing Cuban expats in Florida...fifty years later, they're still enraged that Mugabe confiscated "their" property. Most of these people are even more racist than the Afrikaners, which is no doubt why Trump and Musk are fast-tracking them for US citizenship.
