       I still don't think US political system takes seriously what could be coming this yearTake tariffs:One of our bigger customers did their investor call and it was basically “the recession won’t be worse than COVID, and we were fine then” To which:1) it can definitely be worse2) the feds aren’t giving away thousands of dollars this time to prop up demand -- shelves will be empty-- achedes.baky.social

       @cdarwin in theory, it should be better than the issues during COVID: as soon as the tariffs go away, within 30-60 days, shelves could start to refill. BUT, Americans will need to feel quite a bit of pain before their Republican Members of Congress will feel enough heat to start pushing back. My guess is by the end of the summer, the screaming will be full throttle and the Rs will start to cave.
