@futurebird congrats! I once did that for my mom’s computer— same complaint, too slow. In her case, she let her antivirus lapse. I bought a new one, installed it and it reported 2000+ viruses/malware. We started the disinfection and went to the movies. No surprise, the computer was much faster afterwards. The main culprits were the free coupon clipping plugins. I had to explain to her why they were bad.

@cdarwin in theory, it should be better than the issues during COVID: as soon as the tariffs go away, within 30-60 days, shelves could start to refill. BUT, Americans will need to feel quite a bit of pain before their Republican Members of Congress will feel enough heat to start pushing back. My guess is by the end of the summer, the screaming will be full throttle and the Rs will start to cave.

@stux And Amazon is happy, because they didn’t undo the tariffs on the de minimus transactions. Shein and Temu customers still see the 145% tariffs. If I had a business that had recently paid the mega-tariffs to get their goods, I’d be pissed!#uspol
