At Beorgs at Uyea (on the north coast of Northvamine) there is a neolithic (5000 years ago I think?) stone tool quarry and workshop at a site of feldspar outcrops. The workshop was created by digging down next to an outcrop, building a dry stone wall opposite, and roofing it with rocks that still lie in place. When discovered in the 1940s, the floor was deeply littered with waste stone and tools#Shetland

And some views from the rest of the 18km walk, from North Roe across rugged clifftops to the tombolo separating Uyea island from the mainland. A difficult scramble down and unfortunately impossible to climb on to the island safely. Then back via the axe factory. Like all of Shetland, just covered with incredible remains of thousands of years of humans living out here(This is the walk route https://www.shetland.org/visit/do/outdoors/walk/sandvoe-to-uyea-circular)
