       @jeffcliff I think being inherently deflationary is going to have some big problems. Consider a scenario where the price of bitcoin drops, but people still need to use it so the number of transactions stay within the same order of magnitude. Miners don't get enough to be worth the cost of electricity, so they stop mining. Liquidity falls, so people use alternatives, which causes the value of bitcoin to fall, etc.

       @bananarama short term sure.on the order of slightly more than ~2 weeks though, the difficulty adjusts down in that caseand it has been *extremely* stable on the upswing over time.

       @jeffcliff Ah, I had the issuing rate and difficulty combined in my mind.I was thinking more in the case of "this is actually being used by a large number of people instead of fiat," not as it currently exists.
