@redstarfish Because I was using Arch, Debian, & Fedora at the time I was streaming this so I include it.I was streaming my game on an Arch GNU/Linux host. I was running Debian GNU/Linux unstable in a VM to post stuffs here (and talk to people like you right now) and I was using Fedora GNU/Linux, also in a VM to manage the streams.You know why I run multiple VM's at the same time? Because I like compartmentalization. I don't like doing everything on the host.

My brain fucking hurts when I do everything on the host. I don't like doing "stupid messy crap" such as using socials on god forbid the host so I dedicate a VM for certain tasks, such as the ones I mentioned. It also helps cos I won't get all the credentials to my accounts phished if I'm logged in on another service on another VM.That and I have the memory to allocate and a CPU to handle multitasking with the VM's while I'm gaming & streaming on 4 platforms.

There's also no algorithm here on Mastodon. You probably know that by now since you've been here since 2019. I don't think you can be discovered without using hashtags.And here's the thing: I like being discovered. Twitch has no discoverability and I've been streaming there for 4.25 years so I'm leveraging the features Mastodon provides.If you don't like seeing my posts, just block me. Also I know about qubes.With all the multitasking, the gaming, etc., it's not fit for my use case. I also only have 1 GPU. A passthrough requires two GPU's.

Now I'm kinda sleepy but don't you want to have someone promote the viability of gaming on Linux FOR FREE? That maybe I could help some rando on the Internet who drops by on my streams finally decide to try out Linux and hopefully ditch Windows?After all, y'all yearn for the Year of the Linux, that more people should be more aware of Free as in Libre and/or Open Source Software alternatives yet y'all keep talking in your nerd bubble that nobody in the normal world fucking understands.

People believe in what they see, and if they see somebody playing games or doing normal shit they do on Windows on GNU/Linux like it's nothing, people will be willing to try it out.I'm sorry for the pep talk. It's cringe, I'm tired but I hope you see the point. I extensively use tags, flairs, labels, "double quotes", site:mastodon.social when I'm looking for something on the Internet. Maybe I did get too overboard and should just stop using these tags I guess.
