There's also no algorithm here on Mastodon. You probably know that by now since you've been here since 2019. I don't think you can be discovered without using hashtags.And here's the thing: I like being discovered. Twitch has no discoverability and I've been streaming there for 4.25 years so I'm leveraging the features Mastodon provides.If you don't like seeing my posts, just block me. Also I know about qubes.With all the multitasking, the gaming, etc., it's not fit for my use case. I also only have 1 GPU. A passthrough requires two GPU's.

Now I'm kinda sleepy but don't you want to have someone promote the viability of gaming on Linux FOR FREE? People believe in what they see, and if they see somebody playing games or doing normal shit they do on Windows on GNU/Linux like it's nothing, people will be willing to try it out.I'm sorry for the pep talk. It's cringe, I'm tired but I hope you see the point. I extensively use tags, flairs, labels, "double quotes", site:mastodon.social when I'm looking for something on the Internet. Maybe I did get too overboard and should just stop using these tags I guess.

Ahh the joys of youtube.. I mean my own self hosted invidious and searxng instance. Found this footage cos I was just idk.. I've been self hosting since 2023. I do my school research thru my own searxng instance and I'm always pleased with the results I get.Compared to just using google, if I don't like what google search results are giving me, there's always an alternative and sometimes even better search result, which means I don't miss out on what could've been the actual result. Google search results, as far as I can remember back in 2022, were 50/50. Idk how's google search are nowadays.

Look, I'm a lazy bear myself but I'm not that lazy and stupid to believe fucking "AI" generated answers, let alone read them.I want websites that give me everything I want. I don't need summaries. I don't need bullet lists cos even if the "AI" presents these "formally formatted" answers, what's the point if the information it provides can be wrong?Instead of playing around with URL's and shit, why not just self host and get even better search results?

Also whatever thumbnails I was seeing from YouTube (my invidious instance), it makes me want to fucking vomit. Unnaturally shiny, clean, and... plasticI have a thing called synesthesia. I can sort of "taste" images. Idk. My brain's weird that way but it's been like that for as long as I can remember seeing green triangles and orange squares on a freaking paper tasting like jellos.

So if you start putting too many big letters on an image, they start to taste like metal.If you start putting too many humans in it, they begin to smell like human. And humans are pretty smelly beings.Any hint of cyan or blue and it's gonna smell like laundry.An image with just noise tastes like sand. Right now, my profile picture tastes like eating chocolate, where I can smell fresh clothes and the beach.The purple Mastodon logo tastes like yam cos it's purple, but for some reason it smells like lavender.It all changes when there's a recognizable figure, like the Mastodon mascot. I now start to recognize their texture, depth, and the "density" of the figure, and if a particular figure looks good, the "image-tasting" portion of my brain won't recognize the image or something like that.

I forgot yesterday was the day I've been officially using Linux for 4 years. I went back to it with Ubuntu 21.10I remember watching that Linus vid from 2021 and also heard the release of Windows 11. I remember people saying it would have ads on explorer.exe and TPM 2.0 (was it 2.0?) requirement.Visually, that system is a fucking mess. Choosing dark mode meant you still get some mishmash of light theme from old Windows utilities like diskmgmt, msinfo32, services, control, etc.#linux #ubuntu

I really only watch toons back then, but I do switch around TV channels when I'm bored after school or something.I only had my first phone when I was 10. A far cry from what's normal these days cos tablets & phones are the new pacifiers for kids lol. Every kid I see out there always have some sort of "roblox merch" and they have crap playing on their tablets, sometimes a phone if they can talk and walk on two legs. I guess they graduate from an ipad to an iphone, lmao.

Hell, I even see some cats watching "cat things" on their tablets. Yeah, even cats have tablets. Not a human pretending to be a cat, but literal, actual cats ! And I'm just there, scratching my head in disbelief..Really, a far cry from a bygone era, where everything was a little more sensible even as a kid or cub. I had those little Nokia thingies with keypads you have to proess multiple times just to get to a letter. I can still type with that keyboard but it'd be slower than qwerty

It'd be funny to see kids these days try to figure out how to type with those things but yeah.I don't even know what they're up to these days, nor do I care much about what they see on their pacifiers. All I know is that it's probably going to make them dumber than the generations that came before them. Think of rads but digital. They become feral the more they're consuming & absorbing all that... elsagateAlso what's funny and admittedly scary is that I sometimes catch kids staring at me.

They prolly think of Freddy in that scary bear game. The last thing I want while I do grocery or buying things for myself is not a burger king foot lettuce, but some kid screaming and yelling "Freddy" while they point their finger at me.
