I know a lot of woke people call themselves socialist, because they see it as edgy, but dyed-in-the-wool socialists (who have read, understood, and lived the theory) know how corporate-capitalist it really is. Both fascist and totalitarian states exalt youth and try to groom them.

       @FemaleIsNotAFeeling Calling something "socialist" or "Marxist" doesn't make it so. Indoctrination through education has been a mainstay of governments and societies gone crazy, no matter what they say about themselves. It remains the truth that queer theory became enforced in a political system bought out by corporate interests. If we have to think of queer theory in terms of capitalist-socialist, it's best to call it capitalist. Possibly, the best way to categorize queer theory is as a social/economic/political/philosophical theory of its own, and take it out of the capitalist-socialist framework. We've been trying to take it out of the Democrat-Republican framework. Why shoehorn it into another philosophy where it doesn't fit?

       @FemaleIsNotAFeeling @hearthmoon Yeah. I mean, queer theory is a form of identity politics. It's Marxist in the sense that instead of championing the working or peasant class, we have gone for more niche minority classes to bring about a revolution. It begins in the universities where these theories are formed, theorised on and passed on.
