What are some games you've enjoyed playing on a *large* touch screen? (big tablet)Are there any games that are *more* fun on a touch screen than on a desktop, phone or console with dedicated controls?

@futurebird I normally hate gaming on a tablet or smartphone, but classic DOS adventure games are loads of fun on a touchscreen using touch instead of mouse. I was playing some of my favorites via ScummVM on Android devices since something like 2013 or so. (And I hear that ScummVM somehow managed to get into the Apple walled garden last year or so, so Apple users can enjoy this too now.) Day of the Tentacle is a particularly great one for this IMO, but I can name a bunch of others. (I'm really more a Sierra fan, but their SCI games weren't well supported in ScummVM until very recently.)Another great one was Knights of Pen and Paper, but then it went F2P and lost a lot of value.Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 and Icewind Dale 1 & 2 have Android ports thanks to Beamdog. They work well.

@futurebird I once had access to an iPad for a work project but spent way too much time playing Harbor Master. The 10" screen let me draw some fairly precise paths required by the higher levels of the game.

@futurebird This depends on your definition of touch screen. If you mean only a capacitive touch screen meant to be operated by your fingers, none. None at all.But back in the day, a "touch screen" usually meant something operated with a stylus. And the Google 2016 Halloween game with a cat wizard fighting ghosts was a lot more fun with a Wacom stylus than with a mouse. Like ... no contest.(In this game, you used simple stroke gestures according to the label on the ghosts.)

@futurebird Slide To Unlock is a game so cleverly designed for tablets that it literally only makes sense on a large touchscreenhttps://cs.uwaterloo.ca/~csk/slide/

@futurebird Cultist Simulator really needs a big screen to work well, and there’s something satisfying about moving the cards with your fingers instead of a mouse

@JonnyT The end got me really emotional... I have one of the songs from the soundtrack in my playlist for working on math. It's just so good.

@futurebird Civilization VI were a whole new experience on a tablet. Panning around the map and tapping on things were much easier, but the real difference was, in a game that can famously run into hours, you could lie on the sofa rather than sit hunched at a computer into the small hours.

@futurebird Dicey Dungeons is an excellent little puzzler by Terry Cavanagh that likes to pretend it's a random roguelike. I have it on Nintendo Switch, and any time I try to play it on a TV, I eventually get too frustrated and pick up the console to play in touch mode. Not because the controls are *bad*, but because the touch experience is just sooo satisfying.
