@John_G @pluralistic "Facebook and Instagram have a subscription service in most of Europe, where users can pay monthly so that they don't get ads on the platform."This does not mean in any way that your data is not being harvested anyway. And only Meta knows what they will then do with it or who they will sell it on to. All the User is paying for is for THEM to not see the ads specifically from META.

@John_G @pluralistic The dataprotection governmental agency of Hamburg gave me the email of the dataprotection officer of Facebook since I filed a formal complaint against Facebook Germany GmbH since they won't let me delete my account.The email address is dpo@facebook.comGuess this might come in handy for all kind of data protection related stuff :)

@Quantillion @John_G @pluralistic @aeris Nope. But the Hamburg peeps said they will trigger the Irish gdpr person if this isnt resolved in 5 weeks.So let's see. I don't log in anymore and just watch what's unfolding.
