I should be getting my Trashcan Mac Pro back next month. I will switch it to Linux but hesitate on the distro. Any experiences ?A comment here says PopOS 24 (alpha with Cosmic Desktop) runs fine. Might be a good choice for experimenting with it.https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/linux-on-a-2013-mac-pro.2439072/

@santiago PopOS looks fun — and if you don't want to tinker with it a lot, I'd go with that, I've heard lots of good things about it.I'd of course put Void on it — because that's what I use everywhere, it runs fine on my old Macs. Once you set everything up it's like a very sharp tool with no nonsense, but if you've never used it I do not recommend it — it's rather… unusual compared to your average "user-friendly" distro, takes some time to get accustomed to.

It has 64GB RAM which would make it great for some server uses but given heat issues and energy consumption it’s probably better off as a desktop which properly sleeps when inactive. My Linux desktop Ryzen MiniPc runs PopOS 22 so this might replace it while the MiniPc just becomes another #Proxmox host.Just not sure I can get synergy 1.x working on top of XWayland with Cosmic.
