lol, so i'm updating chimera's rust to 1.85 and getting errors about "unknown target x86_64-chimera-linux-musl" from the bootstrap tool...as it turns out, cc-rs starting with 1.2.0 joins the list of rust libs that misunderstand the concept of a target triple and change to shipping a static, pre-generated list of triples taken from rust nightlyi was already bitten by `tree-sitter test` breaking due to this, now rustc, this will soon make my life even more hell once more things update to it

@q66 Makes me wonder if that's at least part of why Gentoo has moved away from ${arch}-gentoo-linux-${libc}

@domi there are probably like 5 crates variously used by various things (this one is worse because it's an official one so it's used by a lot more things) that all do this stuff, i.e. force a bunch of known triples and hard error if yours does not matchpatching it from every application is a pain...this is worse though because it used to work and in the new version it does not, so once the new version starts making it into lockfiles, everything will go to hell

@domi i'm really annoyed by this kinda stuff because like, do those people even want us to package things at alli'm so tempted to dump all but necessary rust software from the repository and say "if you like cargo and rustup so much, maybe you should use them" but i won't because it's not the users' fault and i don't wanna be pettybut at the same time, this ecosystem is like the only one that is consistently giving me random pains like that, like it's punishing me for keeping up with it
