       @prolrage Because the peace candidate, Calin Georgescu, was projected to win in the runoff elections by 60%, the courts (the power elite) cancelled the elections using the totally bogus claim of Russian influence.        @Im_Speaking_Now @prolrage @SANKOFAB Calling him a "peace candidate" completely ignores who the guy really is.. I wouldn't do that.But yeah, the Supreme Court cancelled the elections after the first round because "they heard some whispers" about russian meddling with pretty much no actual proof (of russian interference, the culprit was one of the biggest romanian parties).What I believe should also be mentioned are the following:- the protests are organized by the far right party AUR- there have been numerous cases of protester violence against journalists yesterday- some of the people around Georgescu are dangerous - fx, Horatiu Potra, member of multiple far right organizations, accused of drug and weapon trafficking, found a month ago with a group of armed people (including firearms) going towards Bucharest
