@josemanuel @lichess I would love a good explanation on why there are gender-segregated tournaments in the first place. It's not "inclusive enough", it's discriminatory for no reason, especially when you add all the backlash against female players present everywhere in the chess world.I also do not agree that this whole trans fiasco is such a big problem, but that's because I believe your gender shouldn't matter at all in chess, not because I wouldn't care about transgender people.

@art @tilvids I have been trying to transition to #peertube for a while. Haven't gotten far, but it is mandatory to get off of #google's #youtube as soon as possible.

@shekinahcancook @randahl The journalist was killed inside his home. And as for the ambulance comment, in my opinion, it's delusional. Your argument is that they bombed it because there was a *possibility* it wasn't used as an ambulance?

@shekinahcancook @randahl Yes, they did use hospitals and other places. But saying that this is enough to justify bombing all hospitals is like saying that it's justified for you to kill someone because they might end up a murderer themselves.

@shekinahcancook @randahl If the IDF would target objectives based on intel from palestinians, then why are the same palestinians mourning and angry against Israel? How does this explain the thousands of people killed? How does this explain the children killed, many of them being obviously too young to be able to have any ties to the terrorists? How do you see numbers in the thousands as the lowest estimations and think that all or even most of those are justified?

@aral @MikeImBack "In August last year, the hard-right minister was involved in another accident when his vehicle ran a red light while on the way to an interview.""According to the report, traffic infractions have been committed during journeys that were not emergencies, like driving to Knesset meetings and TV interviews.""Since he began driving in 2000, the minister has been caught running red lights, using his phone while driving, speeding, crossing solid white lines and driving without a seatbelt, among a long list of 78 infractions, the Kan public broadcaster revealed in September. In response to Kan’s report, Ben Gvir claimed then that the Israel Police had compensated him with NIS 25,000 ($6,500) for wrongful arrests and that his infractions “became obsolete years ago.”"

@aral "Disturbingly, there were huge anti-war protests in Tel Aviv which has turned into a hotbed of anti-Semitism and a recruitment ground for Hamas. I understand Israel is now considering the possibility of nuking Tel Aviv in self-defence.":))

@aral The platform is (relatively) independent from the people. You learn, always the hard way, that there is an insane number of people who are trying to make your day worse, whether they (we) realize it or not.

I do not fully endorse this article, but I believe it is a rather good read - on the NATO escalation of the Ukraine war: https://antiimperialistnews.substack.com/p/biden-crosses-red-line-he-previously"The media are going to tell you this latest escalation is a roaring success, gloating every time Ukraine hits a Russian target. They are going to tell you that Ukraine was struggling because it was not allowed to attack Russian soil. This argument will be used as justification to strike further into Russian territory with bigger weapons, all because our leaders, who overthrow democratically-elected leaders across the world, suddenly care about democracy.""So let me get this straight: it’s completely unreasonable for Putin to have concerns about NATO putting missile bases on Russia’s doorstep, but we must start World War III to stop Russia being on NATO’s doorstep? It seems to me the people who were outraged about Ukraine being called a buffer zone are upset that Ukraine is no longer a buffer zone.#Ukraine #Russia #war #NATO #USA

@Im_Speaking_Now @prolrage @SANKOFAB Calling him a "peace candidate" completely ignores who the guy really is.. I wouldn't do that. But yeah, the Supreme Court cancelled the elections after the first round because "they heard some whispers" about russian meddling with pretty much no actual proof (of russian interference, the culprit was one of the biggest romanian parties). What I believe should also be mentioned are the following:- the protests are organized by the far right party AUR- there have been numerous cases of protester violence against journalists yesterday- some of the people around Georgescu are dangerous - fx, Horatiu Potra, member of multiple far right organizations, accused of drug and weapon trafficking, found a month ago with a group of armed people (including firearms) going towards Bucharest
