The President Musk Super Bowl ad buy might be the “Beyoncé is performing at the DNC” of 2025 but if $40M is spent on 2 minutes of ad time, that’s roughly the same amount awarded by USAID to work with local partners in Ethiopia to develop and implement an early warning system for famine, natural disasters, and other emergencies. #usaid #musk #nazis

And such an ad buy would certainly fall under waste, fraud, and abuse standards (probably all 3, which is rare):Waste: Unnecessary costs, especially considering the hyperinflated costs of ad time during the Super Bowl.

Fraud: President Musk’s ad will almost certainly misrepresent USAID and smear its reputation, portraying the odd wasteful expense as the norm. Further, it’s not a stretch to say the destruction of USAID and other agencies is to make way for massive tax cuts to favor the wealthy. President Musk is the wealthiest person on the planet.
