       After 9/11, using the Patriot Act, the government requested lists of books that the patrons had checked out. There are libraries that never gave out a single list. The records had "disappeared", got shredded, no one remembered the password. Just because you don't see resistance doesn't mean it isn't happening.

       @RickiTarr Ezra Klein had a good piece recently. Summed up: "I would be more worried if they were doing things slowly, carefully, and strategically." Doing things quickly, scatter shot, and with maximum noise is a sign of weakness.I think he has a point. Makes me feel better. And, you know they are going to have a massive face-plant soon.
