@noelreports Is it really that much effort?We are not going to improve things if we don’t invest in them.But I guess if you don’t value truly decentralized social media, there’s no point fighting for it.Btw, after all this time, you are still not using tags, so I wonder how you hoped to improve your reach.

@NeonPurpleStar @noelreports I actually made an account on Bluesky a while back. I still think Mastodon is the better model.Also, I haven’t found a proper (Mac) desktop app for Bluesky yet and the browser stuff is just not to my liking.

@amayer @noelreports look, sorry to be annoying, but it's not mastodon, it's the fediverse (mastodon, misskey, etc)personally my biggest concern with bluesky is what monetary scheme they will eventually have to introduce, cause their network is absolutely NOT decentralised at all

@NeonPurpleStar @noelreports Fediverse is a stupid name. One reason this thing is not taking off is the pathetic marketing.Yes, I don’t see how Bluesky is any ‚safer’ than Twitter. Someone can just buy it, change the underlying tech and then, after a while, do whatever they want. Yes, they might lose _some_ users. But not many. Most people will be too lazy to do anything about until it’s too late. Again.

@amayer @noelreports well, mastodon and (afaik) all of the fediverse projects are gnu licensed, there was never much focus on marketing

@amayer @noelreports i will tell you my opinion on this, and receive it as you likesmartphones are a fucking disaster, with PCs at least people did not view devices as means of pure consumption, but also as tools, as empowerment, you could visit websites as much as create themnow you have to a tax to apple/google just to be on their proprietary market, where any meaning of web functionality has been lost to the word "app", all the while they prioritise their own "apps" against yours, except when the zuck wants a piece of the revenue
