Regardless of my intentions and the fact that I said "but the fact I haven't is proof I'm not bullshitting that I just want us to leave each other alone", the "actionable threat" part of that statement (I could have done the same shit to you by now if I really wanted this fight) was clipped out of context and used to get me perma'd off of vrchat which took 7 years of memories and friends, avatars, groups, and the reason I spent so much money on VR equipment with it.It did a lot of psychological damage. Point and laugh, sure, but I'm over it now. During the time I was still coming to grips with my mental state I had a couple sperg outs across the internet, here included.If I can get the fuck over it, they can do the same.

The wise will use it the cave men won't. It's no different then when people started to use pens over say a quill. The wise saw it as the superior tool. Was using the quill artistic and elegant? Yes but the been mad things faster and just more efficient. Later pens were made to allow you to be as glowing as a quill. So really I think it's more people having a defensive instinct reaction to something new.AI assisted art will become the norm. Someone still has to make new baseline materials for the AI to use and needs to actually be good at art to modify and fix the massive errors and mistakes. Plus there's the infinite inspiration well it can create with the really creative types.Overall AI is just a tool. It will never replace a human fully. It literally can't.

I think you struggle to actually address or think about this issue as critically as you ought to be however, seeing as this isn't much different than creating a digital pen that gets rid of a lot of tedious work for you. I've, in fact, seen artist download pens made specifically to help them draw lines perfectly. Is that really much different? What about auto-shading tools that you wouldn't believe are so common? AI, ultimately, is a put together of all of these tools and is automated. I could agree with you, in the right context, that 100% hand drawn art is impressive and high value, but ONLY within the correct context. If anything I'm being far too generous by even supposing that a quick 15~ minute tops shitpost is even worth $5 to be honest.

There's zero value to a "great artist" who doesn't fucking do anything, but there's even less value to narcissistic "artists" who don't actually ever produce anything significant. In an objective sense there is very little difference between high effort slop and AI generated slop, and in the case of any of the arts I am thinking of when ever I say that "value is waning", it's exactly that.

So I kinda quit, now had I stuck with it and practiced could I have gotten good? Knowing my creative "autism", yes. Drawing and arts more about practice. Can talent enhance stuff? Yes. But for most people practice is enough to make decent art. Maybe not enough that people will pay for it but enough to pass as good.I just didn't want to commit the time to "get good".
