@Ronnie21093 @Azur_Fenix Not really by any objective metric. You can say that you, personally, value 100% hand drawn merit more and you're right, the customer is always right about their own tastes. I think you struggle to actually address or think about this issue as critically as you ought to be however, seeing as this isn't much different than creating a digital pen that gets rid of a lot of tedious work for you. I've, in fact, seen artist download pens made specifically to help them draw lines perfectly. Is that really much different? What about auto-shading tools that you wouldn't believe are so common? AI, ultimately, is a put together of all of these tools and is automated. I could agree with you, in the right context, that 100% hand drawn art is impressive and high value, but ONLY within the correct context. If anything I'm being far too generous by even supposing that a quick 15~ minute tops shitpost is even worth $5 to be honest.

There's zero value to a "great artist" who doesn't fucking do anything, but there's even less value to narcissistic "artists" who don't actually ever produce anything significant. In an objective sense there is very little difference between high effort slop and AI generated slop, and in the case of any of the arts I am thinking of when ever I say that "value is waning", it's exactly that.

AI isn't good for hyper specific context sensitive shitposts like dan clancy being characterized as a very specific coomerjak that existed nichely in the collective consciousness of the internet for about five hours.

I got my hands on a drawing tablet for stupid cheap and I use it as a monitor for my NAS server, but I could easily pull that bitch in here and do something with it now, I've even fucked with it and found out I'm naturally really good at drawing hands and toes, but that's about as far as it went.

A copy-paste with minimal edits doesn't demand high artistry or effort, so pricing it on par with fully original work doesn't make sense. "At the very least you'd be looking at $30"- This is an arbitrary number. Pricing depends on market norms and the complexity of the work. Suggesting $30 as a baseline for what amounts to a meme edit is absurdly inflated. "No self-respecting artist is going to intentionally make something shit quality"- Wrong at every objective level. You clearly don't understand the nature of commissions. Artists are supposed deliver exactly what the client requests, even if the style or purpose is intentionally low-effort. Memes are a common example of this—"low quality" is often the intentional aesthetic. "No self-respecting artist-" You don't get to decide that. There's no part of that statement that doesn't show a fundamental lack of respect and consideration for artists just as lacking as someone who thinks AI will replace them entirely. You are either being a cheeky little contrarian bastard or you're so far up your own ass that you can't smell your own delusions. If anything, you're the one showing a lack of respect for artists as professionals.
