Do you ever spot technical inaccuracies in your dreams, while you're still in the dreams?Last night I booted windows 95 off an 8" floppy disk and saw a nuclear explosion with only a single flash, and in both cases I was like "no, that's not right. You can't do that"

@foone Yeah. That's supposedly the key to the whole "lucid dreaming" thing. I don't know how much I really believe in it, but I did play with that as a kid to get out of nightmares.

@chinmay yep. Nuclear explosions have a characteristic double-flash which is used by the satellites to detect them. It's because the initial detonation is visible and bright, then the shockwave hides it, then the shockwave thins out enough that it's visible again.

@foone All the time. Just last night, I had a lucid dream and managed to take control because I realized something was wrong.

@smallsees I think windows 95 and the nuclear war were unrelated. I resolved the war by going back in time and emailing a VHS tape of softcore pornography to the Soviet Union, which seemed to fix it

@fooneSometimes that way: mistakes. And sometimes I congratulate the writer of the story and am quite sure I wouldn't have been able to get this up.

@foone I remember a dream with a textbook as a background prop.Thing was I knew it wasn't a subject I understood so I made an effort to read the textbook, just to piss my subconscious off
