I think we can all agree most writers and artists would love to have physical, professional-looking copies of the stories they made. One day, I’d like to have my own anime and/or manga, and also my own disc game, on my shelf in my house. I’d be really happy with that.

@RealitytheBloodWraith I briefly played around with the idea of potentially starting a printing service in the U.S which would print and bind manga/doujin/comics and print anything legal in the U.S, including 2D loli/shota/cub content.Since the only ones I have found in Japan have to either use a 3rd party service to get to U.S, or their site is practically unusable.I don’t know if I’ll ever end up doing it, I have so many ideas like that, some go somewhere eventually, others do not. The upfront cost and learning would definitely be the hardest part, since I wouldn’t want to send out a terrible product. But I don’t know if there’d be enough interest. Especially because I’d almost certainly be immediately unbanked, so I’d need to exclusively accept Cryptocurrency. And unfortunately, people in the space seem to not want to touch crypto. Which, to me, doesn’t make sense with all the Payment Processor suspensions that are constantly happening to artists. Feels like this space is one which would be more likely to get people into uncensored methods of payment, but it hasn’t happened yet, except for a few outliers here and there.

@Disa Crypto has a bad rep, unfortunately. Lots of misunderstandings about it. Not to tinfoil hat, but one almost wonders if that was planned by Visa and MasterCard. Intentionally putting people out there showing they use crypto and having these actors do really bad things.

@RealitytheBloodWraith But there’s just as many scams that use regular fiat methods. The thing is, it’s new and because it’s the new thing everyone is quick to jump on it. Definitely wouldn’t be surprised if the big media companies or other special interests propped up the negative stuff happening in the crypto space to keep their control over people’s finances. Since being in charge of your own money is something that a lot of groups really do not want you to be able to do.I think part of it, is people think of crypto as stock. But because it’s not regulated with the same protections as the stock market, people see it as inherently unsafe/sketchy. But crypto was never meant to be a stock, that just happened accidentally by a bunch of people making trash coins which have no value beyond how much they are with in traditional fiat currencies. It’s why I like Monero so much. Monero could be worth $1 or $1,000,000,000 It wouldn’t matter because its value is not how much 1 XMR is in USD, it’s that Monero is private digital cash. The saying “It’s worth it’s weight in gold”, well, Monero is worth more than its weight in gold. The value is the utility.

@Disa I can think of a few reasons it’s hard to make the transition Not everywhere accepts crypto, so it’s just harder to useThe wallets are completely separate than standard ones people useIt’s only digital, so it bars people with no tech knowledge or easy access to an internet connection from getting to their moneyPeople get hacked and lose their money too easilyThey associate crypto with get rich quick schemes, the dark web, and NFTsA lot of people don’t know how to get crypto to begin with, so they have to buy it with USD. If they don’t have USD, they can’t get it, and when they do get it, they have to turn it back into USD to use it anywhere that mattersEven very large, well-known businesses don’t take crypto directly. If they do, they only take the largest, most difficult to get version due to its cost and worthCash App only takes Bitcoin and eats anything else. Everyone wants to just use one simple wallet that every store accepts People can learn how to use it, but most people don’t have time to watch the videos People may finally get fed up with censorship and start looking into it, but it’s taking a long time to actually get mainstream. I want to run most of my website with crypto in the future, but crypto doesn’t even have a simple way to exchange normal money into it, so you can’t set up an exchange thing on the website, so you lose a large amount of customers. I’m trying to figure out how to make it easier so I can actually operate my business, but there’s so many issues that it’s hard for anyone to get into. What kills me is this could be the new standard if people actually had easier entry to start.

@RealitytheBloodWraith See a lot of those are excuses used my normies to me in order to justify not learning. I’m going to respond out of order because I am very stream of conciousness with how I type.Yes, not everywhere natively accepts crypto, but actually you can buy anything with crypto. You can buy most major giftcard brands with crypto using sites like coinsbee, coincards, bitrefill and many others.Sites that you can’t get cards for, there are various “proxy” services where you pay a small fee and can buy anything that can be bought legally online. (I personally use anonshop)People get their PayPal, Cashapp and Bank accounts hacked just as, if not easier. Just run a local wallet and don’t trust the exchange you get crypto from. Just buy it and immediately send it to your local wallet on your computer and protect your wallet with a decent password. That’s honestly all it takes to be better than 99.99% of people who get their accounts hacked. All crypto can be converted to basically any other crypto using sites like Trocador and tons of other similar services.I don’t buy the people don’t have time thing, It’s really not that hard. My sister is, well, not the brightest bulb in the batch, if you will. She has called me over 10 times to ask me how to copy and paste on a computer. She knows how to use crypto, she might even know more about it than me. If she can learn crypto, anyone can. She has convinced me anything about crypto being too hard is an excuse. As far as time, yeah, life is hard, I get it. But if you are, say, an artist/writer or other creative who is actively censored by these payment platforms. You will be spending so much more time making new financial accounts when you are inevitably unbanked. And when you lose those accounts 9 times out of 10, you will be losing large amounts of money with it. I don’t know, sure seems worth the effort to me.

@Disa Well, it’s hard to change people’s minds. We’d need to find a way to normalize its use, and make it easier and better to use. If enough people stop using the mainstream stuff, then we will see wide spread change. Card companies cannot decide what we can and cannot use their payment services for. Only governments can. They could if they were a tiny company or something, but everyone uses them, so it’s unacceptable. I’ve always wondered what it took to make my own payment gateway/card company. Crowdfunding an uncensored payment system that uses regular money would be a really popular idea, I bet. People are very tired of all this. However, accepting crypto in more easy ways should still be an option. I think as many payment systems should be an option as possible, and all of them as uncensored as humanly possible.

@RealitytheBloodWraith There are a few “Free Speech” payment processors at the moment, but all of them are sign-up only. And all the ones I saw have a specific political bent that likely would not accept any sort of pornography. The sad part is both sides of the political spectrum (in the U.S) are prudes and even the ones who claim to be “sex positive” are just as sex negative as the other side. So, Unfortunately, I do not see a porn friendly payment processor happening any time soon. Atleast in the U.S

@Disa You’re so right. Man, is it weird that i kind of hate the sex positive side because they are only pretending to be sex positive? It’s kind of like watching someone be racist and insist they aren’t racist. At least someone who declares, “yeah, that’s me” is being truthful about their beliefs. Whereas with the sex positive actually sex negative people, you KNOW they’re doing stuff behind closed doors because they always are. I may hate the racists and the sex negative people, but at least they don’t try to put glitter on shit and try to convince us it’s a gemstone. We seriously need to be the change we wanna see at this rate, but I broke down the ridiculous cost of trying to start a payment processor company and it isn’t that i don’t think I’ll ever see that money in my life time, it’s just that that’s so far in the future that by the time I get there, it could be so late in the game that free speech is already banned by then and we’re basically China…

@RealitytheBloodWraith I definitely hope that is not the future and I generally like to be optimistic about this sort of thing. I’ve also noticed more and more people call out the bullshit.I’ve actually heard something similar from people. Where it’s like the people who pretend to be on your side are actually more dangerous. They might try to get into your circle, saying that they support “sex positivity” and “no kink shaming” so, you accept them into your circle, you trust them to fight for you and the issues you care about. But they’re never actually there to support you.Exactly like you said, at least people who are against “degeneracy” or “obscenity” or just sexual acceptance in general. At least they are open about it. Their motives are not skewed. They’re actually more respectable in a way because they are not trying to deceive, they are being honest. They are telling you how it is, and how they feel. You know where you stand with them, you know how they feel, and you can thus respond accordingly.
