       I moved from #Nix channels to Flakes, I don't get it... Can someone explain why they're so much better than channels to the point that I shouldn't bother with channels? Because that's how some people make it sound.#nixos

       @10leej yea its just a different way to pin some inputs, and some way to share outputs.  Tho I’ve found it to be just as easy to import files from non flake repos that contain things like package.nix, module.nix, shell.nix etcI actually started with flakes and now am walking back and keep my flakes thin and just for input pinning. Everything has becone much more composable since I started with that.
