       @devxvda I never made it past the $20 watches, but I do think it's notably easier to do a quick time check on a digital interface than it is on an analogue. Plus my old watch (circa being 12 years old) had a stopwatch and countdown timer! Though phones handle most of that nowadays.

I find the slight added friction of checking my time on my phone is more than balanced out, by all the friction involved in obtaining and maintaining a separate watch device, taking it on and off, dealing with skin irritations around a watch strap etc.Maybe a PineTime might make it worthwhile.        Digital bathroom scales are one of those things where you initially think "sure, that might be easier", and they're cheap and ubiquitous so they're common sense, but then you realise: "Wait. I will have to be replacing batteries in this thing forever, there are any number of electronic parts that could break easily (especially in a damp bathroom) AND it creates e-waste? Why are we, as a society, doing this?" THE INTERFACE IS NEGLIGIBLY MORE CONVENIENT AND THE DOWNSIDES ARE SO ANNOYING! 🗣️📢

There are so many examples of this.I bought a good quality clothes horse from the supermarket for about NZ$15. Some people spend that in a month running an electric clothes dryer, even when the sun and wind are offering to do it for free.@falcennial

       This could be my weird single-issue crusade I dedicate my life to.There may be accessibility needs which, by all means! But if you tell me "it connects to an app and allows me to" blah blah then you've really not been paying attention these past 10 years.
